Presently Indian politics is in the process of development. Although this process has been going on since the time of independence movement but it has changed a lot during the last twenty years. Due to the selfish motives of political parties, the purpose of occupying power has become worst.

Indian politics has lost the real component of fair dealing. To achieve the goal, the means should be right and pure, but in our country now the attraction of power has become so much that no body cares about the means. For example, to win elections they adopt all those evils which are immoral in our society. After the elections, horse-trading continues to grab power. Ministers, officials and leaders of political parties adopt unethical methods to earn money.

After 1985, there were many cases of corruption in public life in which politicians, government employees, contractors, pimps and anti-social elements were involved. The fashion and tradition of commission increased corruption in all walks of life. During the last ten years, there were so many scams in which so many ministers, secretaries, directors, government officials and employees were found involved. The worst are the share scams, hawala, urea and chara which have opened a new chapter of corruption in public life. Although these scams are just examples, but there are many such scams, which are yet to be revealed. In fact there is a lot of corruption in our public life. Bribery has become a etiquette. Nothing works without it. Almost all the measures adopted to control it have failed in the long run as most of our leaders, political workers, government officials, public servants, contractors, brokers, businessmen, businessmen, industrialists are directly or indirectly involved in corruption cases . Some of them have been captured while others are still out of reach.

At present, even representatives of people like some legislators; MB*s, ministers, government officials and servants are walking on the path of corruption and they are cutting grass while the sun shines. The whole system has become so bad and corrupt that it requires serious well planned efforts.

Just as no party is getting absolute majority at the center these days, the politics of coalition is going on. It is giving us a weak government. Also, the country has to go through mid-term elections because of coalition politics. This new trend seems to be the way of Indian politics now. No single party gets a majority in a coalition government. Several parties form the government. It becomes very important for one to run the government and control the parties of different views. For example, two successive governments ruled India- one, the UPA and now the NDA. This trend is not good for the nation at all.
