Kasaragod Model: Kasaragod in Kerala had the highest number of coronavirus cases.  Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan appointed IPS Vijay Sakhare (vijay sakhare ips) as Special Officer of Kasargod on 23 March.  By the time of three weeks of the appointment of Vijay Sakhare, Kasargod district became safe for the people.  As of 31 March, the number of people infected with the corona virus in Kasargod had risen to 106.  On April 6, the number of infected people was 164 and only 14 cases have been reported in the last six days.
Kochi city police commissioner Sakhare said, 'All this was due to our strategy.  Basically our strategy is based on three steps.  Its purpose is that people should avoid mutual reconciliation and infection does not spread. '  Vijay Sakhare, after assuming charge of the Special Officer, took three kinds of steps to stop the transition on the lines of the lockdown of the central and state government.

First step - isolation and police patrolling

Vijay Sakhare said that these steps were taken as part of a campaign to completely isolate people directly and indirectly exposed to Covid-19 infected people from abroad, especially from Gulf countries.  He said, 'Traditional methods of policing were adopted as a first step.  As the road was closed, patrolling was increased everywhere.  In this way we managed to prevent people from leaving their homes.

Second step- data collection and terrain sealing

As part of the second step, a spatial figure of all infected cases, people sent home to quarantine, all people from other countries, and those directly or indirectly exposed to infected people was generated.  He said, 'A very interesting picture emerged from it.  We found that all the infected cases came from seven areas under five police stations of the district.  We laid siege to the area.  All roads in the area were closed.  Nobody was let go or let out.  According to Sakhare, the list of those relatives and friends from abroad who had confirmed the infection, they also met.  A third step was taken after identifying them.

Third step - guarded outside homes, monitored by drone

He said, 'As a third step, we have guarded them outside their homes.  We deployed police on patrol for up to 10-12 homes of the affected people.  Policemen went to them and explained to them the importance of staying in their homes.  In addition, drones were used to monitor people in contact with them. '

Commissioner Vijay Sakhare said that Kovid-19's safety app was also downloaded directly or indirectly from the mobile phones of the people exposed to the infected.  The police officer said, "If someone tried to get out of their homes, we would be attentive."  In such a situation, legal action was also initiated against sending such people to the government isolation center.  Three days after the third step, we sent 107 people to the government center because their behavior was dangerous for the society.

App download in phone, home delivery of goods

The police officer said, "More than 10,700 people who were quarantined in the house downloaded the app on their mobile phones.  The district police made arrangements to deliver essential materials to homes in these areas so that people do not leave.  The system of delivering goods to the house was later implemented in the entire district.  He said that the police launched the Kasaragod Suraksha App.  Through this, sick people got the facility to consult a doctor.
According to Vijay Sakhare, from April 14 to April 21, we expect only 12 to 14 cases of infection to remain in the district.  He said that by the end of the month, the number will be reduced to unit number and after four weeks from now I hope that the matter will reach zero.  There will be no case of infection.  73 people have been cured out of 166 infected in Kasargod district.  No cases of infection were reported on Monday.
